Joan Bolker, Ed.D., is a clinical psychologist and writer whose specialty is consulting to blocked writers. In her previous incarnation she taught writing at several colleges and universities, and cofounded the Harvard University Writing Center, and The Language Place at the University of Massachusetts at Boston. She’s written two books, The Writer’s Home Companion, an anthology of advice from a wide range of authors, and Writing Your Dissertation in 15 Minutes a Day. She has consulted to doctors and scientists at the MDAnderson Cancer Center who wanted help with their writing (they have probably taught her as much as she’s taught them). The postings that will appear on this website are based on ones written for MDA over the past five years.
